Alzheimer’s and Dementia Affects Working Caretakers
Have you ever given thought to how many people in America are caretakers for someone with Alzheimer’s disease? As our aging population grows, so does the number of Alzheimer or dementia patients and the need for caretakers of those individuals.
Many of those caretakers also hold full time jobs and need the compensation from those jobs to run their households and give care to their ailing family member. Statistics show that the responsibility can become overwhelming and exhausting for the caretaker and 53% end up having to quit their jobs or take a leave of absence.
