Governor’s Glen is a memory impairment community and assisted living facility for senior citizens that have cognitive impairment from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other memory loss disorders. For every senior citizen that comes to Governor’s Glen, our goal is to improve the quality of life through socialization and stimulation of the body and mind. To accomplish that mission, our staff of highly trained individuals work together to provide high quality, personal care through three programs. We offer long term residential assisted living care; short term respite care to provide a needed break from providing care for a loved for family caregivers; and adult daycare for eight hours during any part of a twenty four hour day.
Through a wide variety of daily activities and encouraging participation, our staff promotes a sense of community among all of our residents and visitors. Every activity is specifically designed to accommodate seniors with different levels of memory loss. And the town square design of our facility features four identical home settings that include a fireplace sitting area, a country kitchen, a living room, and a dining that doubles as an activity area.
All of our programs include routine access to on-site physical therapy, dental care, and a range of health care physicians and specialists. All seniors at Governor’s Glen receive their own private or semi-private room, bathroom, and three meals a day with two snacks.
