Rebecca Fitzgerald - Community Relations Coordinator

A Georgia native and graduate of Atlanta Area Technical School with a practical nursing degree, Rebecca Fitzgerald has a wide range of experience in nursing, business development, and sales. Before joining Governor’s Glen in May of 2012, Mrs. Fitzgerald worked as an administrator and business development manager in the workers compensation and urgent care industries. She has also worked in the orthopedic and pain management industry as a lead nurse and assistant to the MD.

Mrs. Fitzgerald’s passion for working with memory impaired seniors in assisted living, respite care, and adult daycare was born out of her experience with her grandmother living with Alzheimer’s disease for many years. She has a great respect for all caregivers and any families who have a loved one suffering from any form of memory loss. Outside of work, Mrs. Fitzgerald enjoys spending time with her children and grandson as well as outdoor activities such as gardening, watching football, and riding motorcycles.

Patricia Charles, LPN, Lead Nurse

care taker AtlantaPatricia grew up in Uniondale, New York where she attended Uniondale High School. She graduated from nursing school in 2005 and also has a degree in communications and a background in advertising and marketing.

Since graduating from nursing school, she has worked in Long Term Care, pediatrics and mental health. She has been with Governor’s Glen since February 2013.

 

Sharian Montford - Activity Director

Sharian Montford As the activity director, Sharian Montford creates and leads activities for all Governor’s Glen residents, regardless of their stage of Alzheimers or dementia. From decorating for any holiday to bringing in entertainers, Mrs. Montford loves to see the looks on the residents’ faces when she introduces new arts and crafts, exercises, or entertainments such as actors, dancers, or speakers. Mrs. Montford attended Albany State University where she worked on her B.A. degree and studied Music Education with a Vocal concentration.

Mrs. Montford has worked in the social services field for thirty years in a range of positions including community service technician, social worker, program assistant, and lead home manager. In addition to being a married mother of two young adults and a proud grandparent, Mrs. Montford is a licensed and ordained minister. In her spare time, Mrs. Montford is a singer, producer, songwriter and directress of stage plays and church plays.

Anthony King - Chef

Anthony King - Chef As the chef at Governor’s Glen, Anthony King provides wholesome, nutritious meals with a home style feel for the all of the assisted living residents, respite care visitors, and adult daycare participants. Prior to joining the Governor’s Glen team in August of 2003, Mr. King worked as the Food Production Manager at South Fulton Medical Center for twenty six years. All total, Mr. King has over forty years of experience in food service with two years of culinary arts school, a year in commercial pâtisserie/cake baking school, and two years of elegant catering.

Debbie DeLong - Professional Hair Stylist

Mrs. Debbie DeLong has forty seven years of experience as a professional hair stylist and has worked with the assisted living community for the last seventeen. Mrs. DeLong has served at Governor’s Glen since it opened in December 1999. Mrs. DeLong finds joy in working at Governor’s Glen with the assisted living residents, respite care visitors, and adult daycare participants enriching her life on a daily basis.
