Our memory impaired residents at Governor’s Glen have access to some of the best dental and medical care in the Atlanta Metro area. In addition to having a licensed nurse on our full time staff, we have a board certified psychiatrist on call. Our seniors receive regular podiatrist visits, in house dentist visits and on site physical therapy. Because our residents suffer from dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other memory disorders, we also provide daily medication management.
The three physicians available to our residents (Dr. Richard Wright, Dr. Paul Harvey, and Dr. Eloy Diaz) practice together at Med-South Associates. They are affiliated with Southern Regional Medical Center, Piedmont Henry Hospital and South Fulton Medical Center, which are all local to Forest Park and Governor’s Glen.
Dr. Eloy Diaz is a family & internal medicine physician. After graduating from the Havana School of Medicine in 1970, Dr. Diaz practiced medicine in his home country of Cuba until 1973. He then moved to Spain and practiced internal medicine until 1976, when he moved to the United States and began his training at the University of Bayamon in Puerto Rico. In 1982, Dr. Diaz began his private practice in Riverdale, Georgia. As a member of the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps since 1996, Dr. Diaz served in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003.
Dr. Diaz is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Clayton-Fayette Medical Society, the World Medical Association, the American Geriatric Society, and both the Georgia and American Medical Directors Association.
As previously noted, Dr. Diaz has practiced both family and internal Medicine in Cuba, Spain and the United States. He has also been the owner/director of a multi-physician private practice since 1982. He has managed elderly patients and assisted living residents in several Long Term Care Facilities and Nursing & Rehab Facilities.
Dr. Richard Wright is a practicing internal medicine physician. After completing medical school and residency training at the Morehouse School of Medicine in 2000, Dr. Wright began serving the Atlanta metro area. In addition to being a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians, Dr. Wright has extensive research experience with projects for both the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia and the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Wright has worked in urgent care, hospital emergency departments, and single specialty and multi-specialty private practices. He has also managed care for assisted living residents in several long term care facilities and nursing home & rehab facilities.
Practicing in the Atlanta metro area since 2000, Dr. Paul Harvey is an internal medicine physician. He began practicing medicine after completing medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and residency training at Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Harvey also attended Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and serves as a primary care provider as a Major in the United States Air Force.
Dr. Harvey is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American Medical Directors Association. Dr. Harvey has previous experience in research projects with Grady Memorial Hospital and Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and the Foot and Ankle Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In addition to working in the United States Air Force, Dr. Harvey has provided treatment in urgent care, in a state prison setting, and in private practice. He has also managed senior citizen patients and assisted living residents in several long term care facilities, and nursing homes, and rehab facilities.
With his traditional dentistry practice located in Marietta, Georgia Dr. Lee Cohen has served the greater Atlanta area since 1994 by providing patients with the most up-to-date dental treatments. Following graduation from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Cohen completed his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
While Dr. Cohen provides a wide variety of excellent dental services, he is especially adept at providing high quality dental care for the elderly. In addition to treating residents of Governor’s Glenn, Dr. Cohen and his staff currently provide dental health dental health for a number of senior communities and nursing homes in the Atlanta area.
